Co-founder and Project Manager- Medi-AI Pty Ltd.
What is its noble purpose? Harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence to transform healthcare delivery.
Tell us about the first 10 years of your life?
I was born in India in a family with mixed professional backgrounds. My mother is an Anaesthetist, and my father was a businessman running a successful pharmaceutical company.
I spent most of my time following either my mum to hospitals and watching her do things that I had no knowledge of at that time or my father to his company helping him out.
What age were you when you had your first paying job? What was it? At 25, I landed my first job as a Medical Doctor, the most fulfilling first job, I would say.
I treated patients with utmost care and compassion and received enormous blessings from patients and family members.
What made you want to be a Doctor? Why? Seeing my mother saving lives and listening to her stories of saving someoneās life instilled in me the thought of becoming a doctor from a very early age. So, I did my MBBS and chose to work in Emergency Medicine as it kicked an adrenaline rush in me.
What made you want to be an Entrepreneur or follow an alternative route? When exactly did you decide?
It is no other than my father seeing whom I had this idea of becoming an entrepreneur one day along with my medical profession. I was always fascinated by how technology, especially artificial intelligence, is changing healthcare delivery. At the age of 33, I can finally say I am an entrepreneur.
Are you still practicing now? If yes, do you intend to stop if the organisation or project takes off?
Not at this stage because I require a license to practice medicine in Australia as I am an overseas trained doctor. In the coming years, I plan to clear my AMC exams and become a registered doctor in Australia.
Why do you think traditionally many healthcare professionals struggle with entrepreneurship? Or at least they are perceived to?
I believe they are so busy with their studies that they do not get the time to focus on any other activity. And doctors are trained in such a way that they have a clinical mindset; they are afraid of what they do not understand, such as entrepreneurship.
What is your favourite quote?
āāGive 100% in whatever you do and leave the outcome to Godāā and "Don't be afraid to try".
What would you do in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse?
I would sit with my family and have a cup of tea before being bitten up and turned into a Zombie!
