Welcome to the next post in our series of Product Snapshots in the Australian healthtech sector.
Say hello to Consentic, in the words of Co-Founder, Dr Rebecca Saunderson.
In one sentence, describe your service / product?
Consentic is an online medical consent platform, that provides consent that is simple and reassuring for patients, and safer and faster for doctors.
What industry problem / challenge are you tackling?
Consent is unstandardised, time consuming and poorly done. Consentic solves this problem by providing standardised consent animations that explain procedures, followed by a checklist that the patient must complete correctly prior to signing an electronic consent form. This can be safety stored in the medical records.
What is unique about your service / product in your market?
We are a win-win solution, better for doctors and for patients. We can email the consent to the patient to complete on their own - important in this current time of COVID-19.
What is the biggest risk to your company?
There are always risks, and with good planning one tries their absolute best to mitigate those risks.
What does success look like for the company?
Consentic becomes the standard of consent.
Why should a health professional use Consentic? - Infection control as the patient can be emailed a consent, minimising the need to touch practice surfaces - Saves 3 to 5 minutes per consult, leading to enhanced practice efficiency (this can save anywhere from $13,000 to $80,000 depending on the doctor's hourly rate) - Robust documentation offering medicolegal protection - Saves paper / printing costs (it costs $400 to $800 p.a. to run a printer) - Low cost (the money savings of using Consentic far outweigh any cost of using the platform) - Tax deductible - Improved patient and doctor experience
- Evidence-based (our recent publication proved better patient understanding, time-savings and increased satisfaction) - 4/5 patients prefer watching a video to their doctors explanation
