Egal Health is an online platform that matches LGBTIQ+ patients with licensed, trained, and accredited psychologists and provides counselling privately or anonymously via text, video, or audio.
What industry challenge is Egal Health tackling?
Data from the Australia Government suggests that 41,1% of LGBTIQ+ people have a diagnosed mental health condition. According to WHO, people avoid mental healthcare due to fear of stigma, lack of information, high-price per session, long-waiting lists, geographic distances, or the inconvenience of time off work.
What makes Egal Health unique in the market?
Egal Health is the first tele-health platform in Australia uniquely tailored for LGBTIQ+ people. Egal uses AI technology to better understand what mental health challenges are facing our customers, and match them with the most appropriate therapist.
Egal's therapists belong to a diverse group of top ethical talent. Customers can also connect with other customers with shared needs through our platform.
What is the biggest risk to your company?
Counselling is expensive, which means, our biggest risk is sales velocity. We know Egal Health is the solution to the problem, but part of our effort is to build our market and educate our customers this is the right solution, both from a preventive and interventionist side.
What does success look like for Egal Health?
We hope to able to provide mental health services for LGBTIQ+ people across the country, with a focus on customers living in smaller cities and regional areas who don't have access to LGBTIQ+ specialised services.
Once we are able to crack our tele-health service, our goal is to become a digital pharmacy, facilitating access to sexual health products. Our ambition is to expand globally, with a focus in the U.S. market.

A customer should use Egal Health if the person is having difficulties with issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, suicide ideation, and any other mental health condition.
Our mission is to facilitate access to mental healthcare, meaning that our main focus is on customers with no prior experience with mental healthcare and professional counselling.
