Top 5: Alternative Healthcare Conferences Australia

The healthcare and medical world is awash, no, saturated with conferences and seminars. If you want to sell a product, brush up on some skills and education, or need to top up your CPD points, Australia is your oyster.

But what if you want to attend something that’s unconventional and solely focussed on healthcare technology, digital health or entrepreneurial pursuits in the sector?

Now there is no need to go hammering Google as we have taken the hit for you. Check out a list of 5 conferences and events that should be on your radar:

Creative Careers In Medicine

Predominantly for clinical professionals with interests and skills away from the consulting room, CCIM has created a thriving community with multiple events per year. From healthcare startup showcases to seminars to panels discussing the good, bad and ugly of alternative career choices for Doctors, you are guaranteed a more intimate experience than some of the behemoth conferences.

Australian Healthcare Week

Having personally attended this in 2018 I can attest to its appeal. Although not all exhibitors and presentations are technology-based, each year increasingly they are. If you want to see what healthcare services are using, or going to use, in the way of equipment, devices, information systems and more, this is the event for you.

AusMedtech

The 2018 version of this event attracted over 350 delegates and is organised by industry association AusBiotech. Predominantly their focus is biotherapeutics, medical technology (devices and diagnostics), food technology, industrial and agricultural.

Healthcare Leaders Forum

The 2018 HLF conference was heavily influenced by technology, and 2019 looks to be no different. The themes for debate include Clinician-Led Transformation, The Path to Patient Empowerment and Bringing Leadership into the Digital Age.

HIC (Health Informatics Conference)

Birthed by HISA, the Health Informatics Society of Australia, HIC is billed as “the health informatics and e-health conference and expo to be at”. With over 1000 attendees it is on the larger scale of the conference circuit and delegates range from clinical to government to technical geniuses.
